Deezer says 44% of songs uploaded to its platform daily are AI-generated
Deezer says AI-generated tracks now make up 44% of daily uploads — roughly 75,000 songs per day and over two million monthly — though they account for only 1–3% of streams and 85% of those streams are flagged as fraudulent and demonetized. Deezer, which began tagging AI tracks platform-wide in June 2025 and has labeled more than 13.4 million AI tracks, removes tagged songs from algorithmic recommendations and editorial playlists and will stop storing hi-res versions. The surge highlights industry tensions over rights, transparency, and chart inclusion after an AI-generated track recently topped iTunes charts; Deezer urges collective action to protect artists as other services adopt varied detection and labeling approaches.
