DEV has opened its 2026 WeCoded Challenge, the platform’s ninth annual initiative spotlighting underrepresented and marginalized developers. Evolving from the earlier Nevertheless, She Coded movement, WeCoded continues to use community storytelling to surface overlooked experiences in tech while broadening how people can participate. Alongside the returning writing prompt, “Echoes of Experience,” the 2026 edition introduces a new creative track, “Frontend Art: Gender Equity,” inviting code-driven visual pieces built with any frontend tools and shared via embeds or repos. Prize packages include DEV++ memberships and exclusive badges, with all valid participants receiving completion badges. The format is short-form, weekend-focused hacking and documentation, aimed at quick, high-energy community contributions.
